If only the walls of this building could talk… The history of Chelsea’s Terminal Warehouse dates back to 1800s when it first opened doors as a distribution centre with rail lines and direct access to the waterfront. Later, during the 90s, it housed one of New York’s hottest nightclubs, Tunnel. Now, it is a modern multi-purpose space with offices, stores and restaurants. This 72,000 sq. feet studio space to rent is on the third floor of the building with multiple private rooms and plenty of natural light.
The crowd in the area is pretty limited to the white collar workers from local corporate offices of companies such as Uber, Dsquared2, Johnson&Johnson, Club Monaco and others. It is also known as one of the go-to spots for gallery hopping with lots of prominent art spaces – SVA, Axis, Hutter Auctions, etc. – setting up shop in the surrounding buildings. On the weekends, the neighborhood is flooded by tourists venturing down the nearby High Line, enjoying views of the Hudson River or coming for a night of theatrical adventure at the McKittrick Hotel.
The Terminal Warehouse is home to many different establishments, but local staples include the trendy cafe La Colombe Coffee Roasters known for its strong, flavorful blends. Chic eatery Between The Bread offers eclectic, health-minded dishes while Porchlight serves as a local watering hole but with a fancy touch. Across the street is luxury car dealer Manhattan Motorcars with Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini and Bugatti cars on display.
It is a quiet, business-focused area remote from public transportation. You might want to consider providing easier access to the location or parking alternatives to those traveling by car.
