There’s lots to see and do on Roman Road, Tower Hamlets. From the historic market which runs three days a week, to the hugely popular Buddhist Centre and its charity shop Lama’s Pyjamas. Not to mention the Scandi-style gift shop Snap.
This former bookshop cafe sits near the beginning of Roman Road, close to the Buddhist Centre itself. It has a traditional storefront and a Victorian style spiral staircase that frames the main room inside. The décor is currently laid out as a tea shop and cafe, with arty touches that can be kept or easily switched out for more muted tones. Be sure to use the basement as well, to create a great atmosphere and experience for shoppers or cafe users.
Roman Road is also well-known for its gastro credentials. Check out popular haunts like Palmers Restaurant and The Art Café – and tempt curious locals towards your end of this historic street.
It is currently fitted out as a cafe, but will be moved back to a white box by mid August!
