From ramshackle factories to repurposed warehouses hosting all night dance parties, Williamsburg has come a long from its 1990s industrial roots. Kent Avenue wraps around the East River waterfront and is the site of many of the new constructions and residential high-rises that have transformed the Williamsburg skyline. It’s also where you’ll find this impressive event space that features a rooftop with panoramic views of Manhattan.
Residents in this area are generally wealthy young professionals who commute to Manhattan for work, but prefer to live in Williamsburg for its creative, youthful energy. Tourists to the area are drawn to East River State Park, especially during the summer for its waterfront views and to attend Smorgasburg, a foodie’s paradise with 100 different food vendors to choose from. Nightlife is a big draw to Williamsburg – The Woods is a popular late night dance spot with a taco truck (because why not?) and Radegast Hall is boisterous beer hall that’s packed on the weekends. The L at Bedford Avenue is a 10 minute walk away.
You’re sitting in between Hanato Florist and Field House shoe store. Around the corner is Nitehawk Cinema, the popular movie theater serving drinks and food right to your seat. Up the street are a number of stores including J. Crew and McNally Jackson.
Kent Avenue is an awesome location, but fairly residential.
